The Streamlight 88033 Protac Tactical Flashlight is an ultra compact yet ultra bright flashlight.
The aluminum body enables the Streamlight to be rated waterproof in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, and be durable enough to withstand the everyday rigors outdoor use. The C4 LED bulbs produce up to 120 lumens of white light at its highest setting, if that is too bright it can be adjusted down to a comparatively dimmer 14 lumens. The third mode featured in the flashlight is a strobe–especially handy for signalling and emergencies.
The Protac is easily turned on and off with the tail mounted switch with one hand, the
power switch is also used to toggle through intensity and strobe modes.
The “pen” style clip is a handy touch, but the lack of hole or ring for a lanyard is noticeable and a sorely missed feature. Included with the flashlight is a velcro holster that can easily be clipped to a belt. The Streamlight also boasts a very long continuous run time of 11.5 hours (120 lumens) on a pair of AA batteries. The attached anti roll cap solves the common annoyance of rolling flashlights–it will stay where you dropped it!
The Protac is a great choice for use in the outdoors, the garage, or any environment where a compact, bright, and durable light is needed. The Streamlight Protac 88033 Tactical Flashlight is available from Amazon.
