Nebo Redline Tactical Flashlight Review

The Nebo Redline Tactical Flashlight is many things, its compact, durable, bright, and reasonably priced. It also is packed with a wide variety features that rivals more expensive tactical flashlights.

Design

The shiny black/grey finish is at first glance, very appealing to the eye. Beyond appearance, the internal components of the Nebo Redline are housed within a rugged anodized aircraft-grade aluminum shell. With a length measuring at around 4.5 inches and weighing in at less than 7 ounces, The Redline is compact and light enough to comfortably carry in a pocket or pouch for everyday use.  The magnetic base is an unusual feature that could prove useful for certain situations by providing hands free illumination. The light is activated via tail cap switch, this makes activating the light with a “tactical style” hold very easy. The switch itself has two stages, if you press down on the button, but don’t make it “click” you can efficiently cycle through output settings and strobe modes without deactivating the light each time. If you depress the button all the way until it clicks, then the Redline will stay on the setting you have selected (you can still toggle through all the modes, the light will just shut off between each mode). As an added convenience, the tail cap switch does glow in the dark.

Light

At the brightest setting, the Redline is capable of producing a blinding 220 lumens of output that is equally useful both outdoors and indoors. If 220 lumens is too bright or you wish to conserve battery power, the Nebo can reduce its output to half the maximum (110 lumens) or a relatively dimmer 22 lumens by toggling the power switch on the tail cap. The Nebo also features two strobe modes; the first mode is a regular interval strobe that will periodically flash. The second strobe is a little more interesting as it is programmed to repeatedly blink out SOS in Morse code. The Redline also features a 4x adjustable beam, which allows beam itself be focused by adjusting the bezel set near the LEDs. The manufacturer claims that at the most focused setting, the beam can be seen from over 150 yards away.

Final word

The Nebo Redline has many features comparable to more expensive tactical flashlights but at a fraction of the price. The bright output and weatherproof aluminum casing makes it versatile enough for use in both outdoor and indoor environments alike. Finally, the compact size and lightweight makes this flashlight potentially appealing who wants a light that they can carry for everyday use. Coupled with a reasonable 4 hour battery life at maximum output, this flashlight is worth considering for anyone who is looking for a flashlight with many of the features of more expensive models at a much lower price.
